This is my 21st year as Resource Specialist at Orange Glen. I have a Multiple Subject Credential, Learning Handicapped Credential, and a Resource Specialist Certificate. Before coming to Orange

In the Resource Program, we work closely with students, parents, teachers, administrators, support staff and other agencies to provide services to students.
Support given to each student is provided according to their needs as identified in their Individual Education Plans / Behavior Support Plans.
Instruction in reading, writing and math is linked to State Standards and grade level expectations.

Students may be served in a variety of ways:

  • Being pulled out for direct sevices in the Resouce room, for
    Speech and Language,
    Adaptive P.E., or behavior support.

  • Supported in the general education classroom through
    collaboration with the general education teacher/s regarding
    accomodations and modifications, or providing materials or
    technology to assist the student in the general ed. classroom.

  • Provide support for qualified second language learners to
    include linguistically appropriate goals, providing preview,
    review, and concept developement as necessary. Make sure
    that ELD is being provided.

  • A combination of the above or other additional services as
    necessary to meet the student's needs

      Glen, I had experience teaching in grades K-12 in general education. I also served on the board of the North County Chapter of the California Association of Resource Specialists for 14 years, and have belonged to CARS+ for 19years.
